Naval history will once again be made on May 22, 2015: the third ship to bear the name of the Naval World War II hero USS Samuel B. Roberts (FFG-58) will be decommissioned in Mayport, Florida.
Samuel R. Roberts FFG-58
Like her sister ships, DE-413 and DD-823, FFG-58 sailed in harm’s way on the world’s oceans to help preserve this nation’s freedom. Her legacy will live on.
In 2015, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of our ship’s fight in Vietnam, which took place from September 1965 to April 1966.
